Happy Friday!

Finals are over so it is one of the best Friday!  I hope everyone had a great week!

It is time for Pinspiration Friday!!

I am totally slacking with regards to Pinspiration lately.  I have just been so busy I haven't had time to sit on Pinterest.  Its horrible!

I do have two pins for you!

The week has been so long that I don't remember pinning the quilt this week!  But I still love it.  '

The best thing about Pinspiration Friday is that I get to look at all of my old pins!

Linen Closet

Isn't the closet just so cute?!  Okay I know they have cute towels and accessories which make it super cute but besides that, it is so organized and I love it!

The new house doesn't really have towels so its not like we can make it super cute like this but I have a goal to make it organized and cute like this one!

Chevron Quilt

I don't know if you realized this, but I love chevron.  Not that my blog hasn't been a hint about my love!

But I so badly want to make a quilt and why not make it chevron?!

I have finally found a tutorial...finally!  I have to make it now!  Or maybe in two years when I am done with school.

Either way I love this!  I am thinking grey and yellow...

Sesame Chicken

Hi Everyone, 

I wanted to share with you the Sesame Chicken that Eric and I made together awhile ago.  I received the recipe from Yummy. Healthy. Easy.

I will be honest, I don't really know what it is suppose to taste like but this was super sweet and not at all what I was expecting.  It was still good, Eric added some red pepper flakes and he was happy!

Ingredients

• 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into cubes
• 1/2 cup cornstarch
• 2 cups water
• 1/2 cup sugar
• 3 Tbsp soy sauce
• 3 Tbsp oyster sauce
• 3/4 tsp garlic powder
• 3 Tbsp cornstarch
• Broccoli florets
• Sesame seeds

Directions

Place cornstarch in large plastic bag with chicken and toss to coat.

Pour canola oil in bottom of a large skillet.  Brown chicken in skillet.

Mix water, sugar, soy sauce, oyster sauce, garlic powder and cornstarch in a small sauce pan.  Stir over medium heat until it thickens.

Pour over browned chicken and simmer for a few minutes.

Server over white rice and sprinkle with sesame seeds and broccoli.  If you want, you can steam the broccoli with the chicken for a few minutes but we were hungry!

Note from the Chef

This was not my favorite recipe ever and I don't think we will make it again.  When Eric has to add something to make it taste better, I take that as a hint that he doesn't really like it.

Pinspiration Friday {7}

Its Friday!  This is a great friday because I just finished my last week of undergraduate classes.  That is as long as I don't fail my finals!

Since it is Friday, it means its Pinspiration Friday!

Sadly I did not pin much at all this week.  I had a paper to write on Jo-Ann Fabrics and their social media so I tried so hard not to use social media unless I was writing my paper on it.

Let me tell you, it was hard but I did it!

Bad news for you though because I don't have a lot of Pinspiration.

I am going for the bold patterns this week!

Repurposed Lamp

Isn't the lampshade just the cutest?!  

Honestly, I have no idea where I would even put something like that in my house, but I love it!

I did find this on Jo-Ann Fabric's Pinterest, yes I got a little distracted!

Mat

I know I know, this is the second time I am sharing a mat with your this month but I like this one better!

I really like how it is just fabric overtop of a mat instead of painting.

I am not the best painter and I know anytime I paint I WILL screw it up.  But I can do fabric!

1. What is your favorite color and why? I love bright colors!  The brighter the better and I cannot choose just one.  (Yes if you ask Eric he would actually get that right)
2. Who is your "blog"spiration? I have two, Pinterest and my house.  Check out my weekly Pinspiration Fridays (every friday at 11) if you haven't already.  My other inspiration is my house because there is nothing there.  It is a blank slate and I can do whatever I want!
3. Why do you enjoy blogging? I enjoy sharing my ideas with everyone.  I love crafting but I want to share it with others.  If I made it and love it, there has to be someone else that would love it too!  
4. What is your dream vacation? Touring Europe!  Especially Italy, Italy is gorgeous (check out my profile pic)!
5. What color is your toothbrush? Or do you have a character toothbrush?  Orange because it is bright!
6. How do you keep your blog fresh and new? It's easy, it is new!  But really, if I think of something, why not try it out.  The worst thing that can happen is no one likes it and I change to what I was doing before!
7. Would you rather be stuck on a desert island or in a blizzard? Desert island.  I hate being cold!
8. What kind of car do you drive....or do you wish you could drive? Toyota Camry 2003, its my baby.  I don't want another car, even if it was a newer version.
9. Who is your favorite person in the whole world?  This is a trick question, I have to say Eric (Love you!).
10. Who is your celebrity crush? (And don't say you don't have one, we all do!)  I have two.  Channing Tatum and Zac Efron.  I will watch any movie as long as either of them are in it!
11. What advice would you give to someone just starting their blog today? First is patience, spend the first month developing your blog and learn how to join Linky Parties.  Second,  never compare yourself to larger bloggers because they have had a lot more time to develop their blog.

1. I can't drink coffee but I love the smell of it!
2. I am graduating with a major in Mathematics and Computer Science
3. If I could wear a dress every day I would
4. I hate wearing grey but I love decorating with grey
5. I love naps and would take one if I could every day
6. I had skin cancer so I have a scar on the left side of my face (a lot of people don't notice which is a great compliment)
7. I am the shortest person in my family (Never even grew past my mother).  As my brother would say, thanks MiMi (but he is 14 years old and 5'8" so I don't know why he is complaining)
8. I played volleyball through high school
9. I only eat white meat unless it is lathered in BBQ sauce.  Hamburgers are okay but I would rather have a piece of chicken!
