Pinspiration Friday #2

Hi Everyone!  I hope you have had a great week.

Are you ready for another Pinspiration Friday?  I know I am!

So I am kind of cheating this week because I didn't find them on Pinterest but I found them by searching through other people's blogs and then I put them on Pinterest.

So Eric and I have been casually looking at furniture in our spare time to see what we like.  Eric really liked a kitchen table at one store and then he put his hand on it and I thought it was going to collapse!  No we were not at a thrift store but an actual furniture store!

Needless to say we are both a little scared from our experiences.  Eric really wants to build stuff (like wood projects) so he called me up all excited that he wants to build our bed and kitchen table so he knows it will be good quality.

Don't get me wrong, I was a little hesitant to say yes but he puts up with all my crafting stuff so I guess I can trust him to build our furniture.

Here is my Pinspiration this week!

Note: If you want to pin something, click on the picture and you will be sent to the actual pin so you can repin.  The links to the how-tos are associated with the pins.

Bed

I'm not a big fan of the distress look (I think that is what it is called) but otherwise it is super cute!  Especially with the pillows from last weeks Pinspiration Friday!

Eric said he wants to build this, I am scared for him but Ana White has great tutorials on her site so I think he will be fine.

This is such a cute bed though and it will be even better because Eric will have made it!  I can see our bedroom coming together!

Table

I searched high and low for directions on how to make a kitchen table that I liked and I finally found one from HGTV.

I think it is adorable, it might be a little too big, but Eric can shrink down the size because that is the best part about DIY.

Hopefully it is strong enough for Eric to not only put his hand on but also eat off of!

Entry Table/Nightstand

This table is actually suppose to be for an entry way but I think if it was half the size, it would be a great nightstand!

I am determined to find plans for how to make this one because the user didn't post them.

Oh and this would be black...of course!

I think Eric has a lot of work to do but it'll keep him busy and he will have fun with it.  Maybe some bonding time with his dad!

What is your Pinspiration this week?

Have a great Easter!

Happy Pinning,

Alyssa

Pinspiration Friday

Hi Everyone!

I want to introduce something new that I will be doing.  I am calling it Pinspiration Friday!

Pintrest Inspiration

Every friday, I will post my inspiration from Pinterest for the week!  I'll show you what has inspired me and you can pin them as well.  Also, I want you to share with me what your Pinspiration is for the week!

Note:  If you want to pin something, click on the picture and you will be sent to the actual pin so you can repin.

Check out what has inspired me this week!

Place Cards

I was looking for place cards for the wedding that are DIY but not extremely complicated.  I do not want to spend days making place cards for the wedding!  I also wanted to do something different then the craft store pre-made ones just because I want to.

These are perfect because all I have to do is print and fold!

Eric is going to make me a template on photoshop (I promise to share with you when we do it) that will be our damask pattern and then we will differentiate the meals by the outline of the shape.  Can't wait to make these!

Bedroom Wall

I don't know if you know this but Eric and I can't agree on anything for decorating the house.  Nothing!  I love bright colors, fun and cheery, and he likes bachelor pad colors, dark and depressing.  I like fun patterns and he likes either stripes or solids.

The only color we can both somewhat agree on is red and we have not come to a compromise on patterns yet.

As a result, after looking at many different bedspreads, we decided to go with red.  I know, real unique.  Then we decided on black furniture (no we haven't picked it out yet).

I could not decide what color to paint the walls and when I saw this, I knew this was the color!

& Pillow

I love decorative pillows on a bed, I think it makes it feel more cozy but also put together.  Over spring break I wanted to make a Mr and a Mrs pillow like this but the supplies were too expensive.

I am determined now to make Mr & Mrs pillows for our bed!  Can't wait for this project!!

What is your Pinspiration this week?

Happy Pinning,

Alyssa

How To Join Linky Parties!

Hi Everyone!

One of the greatest ways to share blog posts is through blog Linky Parties.  I recently started joining Linky Parties.  Sadly I had to do a ton of research and I was so afraid to join them because I was intimidated and couldn't find a good enough how-to.  So here is yours!

How to Link for Linky Parties

There are two types of ways most people use to link posts.  You can determine which technique to use by the button you click to link.  Overall they are the same method though.

If you go to a Linky Party and scroll all the way down after all of the linked posts, you will see one of two buttons:

First Method

Click "Add your link"

Enter the link to your specific blog post and not the entire blog, the title of the post (not your own name), and your email address.

Determine which picture you would like to use for others to see.  Choose "crop".

Select the area that you would like displayed and click "Crop the selected area".

Click "Skip this step".

Once you are done, make sure you go back to your original posts and either put the blog's button or a link to their website.  It is called linking back and it is respectful to do this for every blog post.

Second Method

Click "Click here to enter"

Enter the link to your specific blog post and not the entire blog, the title of the post (not your own name), and your email address.  Sometimes I type my actual name too.

Choose "Let me crop my own image" and then "From Web"

Choose your image and then crop the image.

Once you have cropped your image, you have been entered.

Don't forget to link your blog post back to the blog!

Have fun linking!  I hope to see some of your ideas on other parties!

Mason Jar Candle

I am sure you are incredibly sick of candles but one last time!!

My mother and I made even more tea cup candles!  But there weren't any that I had to share and lets face it, you are probably sick of looking at tea cup candles.

We had wax left over so we made a mason jar candle.  It was super cute so I had to share!  We made them exactly the same as the Tea Cup Candles.  I just had to share it!

Isn't it just so cute?!  Totally different then all of the tea cup candles and it is great!  Definitely more practical for around the house and we said this is perfect for the kitchen.

Happy Crafting,
Alyssa
